Youth World Cup 2017 will be held in the sports complex "Spence". The executive director of the International Sambo Federation, Sergey Tabakov, together with the members of the organizing committee - Patrick Dryd and the president of the regional Sambo Federation of Voevodina Ivan Yandrich, conducted an inspection of the sports complex and the business center of Vojvodina "Spence".
"This is a large sports complex, which hosted many competitions, including Sambo. There are regular large-scale events there, not only sports - this place is often used for various kinds of concerts. The staff at Spence are genuinely interested in ensuring that the World Youth Sambo Championship is held at the highest level. I am confident that they will make every effort to do this, "- said Sergei Tabakov.
Ivana Yandrich, who is not only the president of the regional Sambo Federation of Vojvodina, but also the best acting sambo wrestler of Serbia, said that in Spens there are really excellent conditions for the competitions: in the complex there were many major events, including the European Sambo Championship of 2015. She also noted that the preparation for the Championship is carried out by the Sportikus club in the city of Novi Sad.
"I know from experience that Novi Sad is an excellent organizer of the competition. During the inspection we looked at the sports hall, locker rooms, press center, as well as the adjacent premises that will be used. Then they visited the hotels "Novi Sad", "Aurora" and "Fisherman's Island", where athletes and officials will be accommodated. Everything is organized at the highest level, "Tabakov said.
Selection of Serbian sambo wrestlers
Of great importance for Serbian sambo wrestlers is not only the organization of the Youth World Championship at a high level, but also a worthy performance of their athletes in the tournament. On the eve of the sports complex "Spence" was the qualifying tournament of the national team of Serbia to participate in the World Championship. Interestingly, in addition to athletes, the tournament was attended by a large number of spectators, who closely followed the fights of athletes and cheered for their favorites. According to the organizers, 90 sportsmen representing 15 clubs took part in the tournament.
The president of the Serbian Sambo Federation, Tatyana Trivich, who directly observed the struggle of the athletes during the selection, especially emphasized the quality of training of athletes. She also noted that the Serbian athletes are quite capable of winning from 5 to 10 medals at the upcoming World Championship.
